Brian and Debbie Gering
Pastor Brian Gering and Debbie come to Church of the Cross from the state of Oregon. They have pastored in Oregon and Washington since 1991. Pastor Brian is ordained with the Assemblies of God. Debbie has a BA from Vanguard University and a BS from Warner Pacific University. She is the director of Compass Academy Preschool. Brian and Debbie have been married since September of 1985 and have three young adult sons. Their oldest, Trevor, works as a Kindergarten teacher. He and his wife Melanie have three daughters and live in Auburn, WA. Aaron, one of their twins, currently works as a children’s pastor for Convergence Church in Fremont, CA. He is married to Caitlyn and has one daughter. Jered, their other twin, works at Monarch Christian Academy. He was recently married to Gabrielle; they reside in Milpitas, CA.

Jenna Pershing
Jenna was raised in church and has known the Lord from a very early age. She studied Journalism at Cal State East Bay and Cal State San Francisco. She’s married and a stay-at-home mom to three wonderful children. She’s excited to serve in Children’s Ministry, and looks forward to everything God has in store.
WOMEN’S MINISTRY DIRECTOR
Connie Nickel
Connie was born and raised in the church, baptized in both water and the Holy Spirit at age fourteen. She’s been actively serving in ministry since the early 90’s, mostly serving children and youth. The Lord gave her a burden for women’s ministry, and has a passion to both unite the ladies of Church of the Cross and bridge the gap to other women outside the church walls. As a mother of two and grandmother of four, Connie loves her family more than anything else.
